In Luīze Nežberte’s ‘’the statement is pointless the finger is speechless’’ the notion of space is dissected through and through. Her work evolves as a collection of quotes and forms that serve as material or ready-mades of sorts: Centering around a large sheet of paper that unfolds like a cascade in the basement of Oststation, the work consists of both text and sculptural elements. While the text conveys an assemblage of quotes and reflections on space (written both by artist and well-known authors), numerous steel elements are employed to support, hold or straighten the paper. Piled up, stacked together, or aligned in one row, the peculiar forms are inspired by several ventilation tubes at Oststation- one of which was removed by the artist and during the runtime culminated as subtle intervention.
